Medication Management
At Faraday Health, we take a comprehensive, two-pronged approach to treating depression, anxiety, and other mood-related disorders: combining evidence-based medication with effective therapy. For many individuals, medications can play a vital role in reducing or even eliminating symptoms and improving overall quality of life.
However, we recognize that no single medication works the same for everyone. Side effects, individual biology, and medication response vary widely. That’s why our experienced providers offer personalized medication management—carefully prescribing and monitoring medications based on each patient’s unique medical history, biological profile, and any potential contraindications.
Our goal is to ensure safe, effective treatment that evolves with your needs—so you feel supported every step of the way.

What should I expect?
In your first visit with our medication management professionals, our psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners will perform an initial assessment which can last up to an hour. Our specialists will review your history, current symptoms, and desired outcomes to determine the best course of treatment for you going forward.
Based on this assessment, your practitioner will make a diagnosis and develop a treatment plan unique to your specific needs. If you agree to move forward with this plan, your practitioner will discuss various medications, their potential side effects, and dosage information.
Initially, your medication will be prescribed for a trial period to observe and monitor its effectiveness as well as any unintended effects. If the goals of the patient are being met, the patient will likely continue with prescribed medication.
Sometimes, the patient may experience side effects during the trial period such as nausea, inability to sleep, irritability and more. If these side effects are present, dosage may be adjusted or a different medication prescribed entirely. This can be a trial and error process until the right medication is found.
Follow up visits
After your initial assessment, patients will see their provider on a monthly, quarterly, or as-needed basis. These subsequent visits are typically 15-20 minutes, but can be longer if needed. Necessary adjustments in dosage or medication are made. We use appropriate quizzes to track the effectiveness of your medication – PHQ9 for depression, GAD7 for anxiety, etc. – at every visit. We know life happens, and if an appointment is needed for sooner than what is previously scheduled, we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.
